Graphite Aquarelle Pencils

Graphite Aquarelle Pencils

Graphite and watercolor artists alike can enjoy creating deep shades of graphite and vibrant watercolor artwork with the high-quality products that Faber-Castell provides. Marry your favorite graphite and watercolor qualities into one artistic medium and you meet Graphite Aquarelle Pencils. The name “Aquarelle” is another word used to refer to watercolors.

Beyond being an ideal medium for preliminary sketches and watercolor paintings, watercolor graphite pencils add artistic character to drawings and are a great medium to use with mixed media techniques incorporating oil, acrylics and ink.

Creating bold watercolors out of graphite can be achieved not only through the technique of adding water with a paintbrush to your graphite, but also by sketching on wet paper. Depending on the degree of moisture, the lines disperse artistically providing additional character and spontaneity. The grey shade intensity can also be consciously controlled by using more or less water in your work. We recommend using watercolor paper when creating with Graphite Aquarelle Pencils. The roughness of the paper selected can add even more expression.

Graphite Aquarelle Pencils are created with the same professional standard as their graphite companions with break-resistant SV bonding, environmentally friendly water-based varnish, and wooden barrels made from sustainable forestry. Faber-Castell graphite watercolor pencils are available in 5 degrees of hardness: medium soft (HB), very soft and black (2B), very soft and very black (4B), and extra soft and very deep (6B and 8B). Each pencil is created with 3.3mm break-resistant lead that is guaranteed to be easy to sharpen.
