Awagami Japanese Papers, Now Available in Large Format Rolls!

MacPherson’s is proud to launch a new Japanese paper roll program in collaboration with heritage mill partner, Awagami Factory. Responding to the growing needs of artists for larger specialty papers, this roll program (supported by sample packs, sample books and a custom display fixture) offers 3 of the mill’s most popular washi rolls that can be used for a wide array of art making: printmaking, drawing, painting, inkwork, mixed media, etc… The 10m (10.9 yds) rolls are made from a variety of natural fibers harvested, cleaned and prepared by hand at the mills’ Tokushima facility. For over 300 years, Awagami has been making Japan’s finest washi papers and is currently run by 7th generation master papermaker (and recently awarded by the emperor as “Intangible Cultural Property of Japan”) Yoichi Fujimori and his family.
