After her recent collaboration with New York City Ballet, Shantell Martin was invited to create another site-specific installation on Governor’s Island in NYC.
Her installations Church and The May Room fully cover the interior and exterior of Our Lady Star of the Sea, a former chapel built in 1942, in her signature style.
For these works she used spray paint and the K-51 Permanent Ink Marker in Super Black. Her large-scale drawings reactivate the space, which has been closed to the public for over 20 years.
K-51 Permanent Ink Marker
High quality alcohol-based ink is permanent and opaque, and works well on almost everything. Handmade in the USA.
