Every October the Emeryville office celebrates the creepiest, craftiest holiday of the year with a pumpkin decorating contest and costume parade. The folks in Merchandising always manage to exceed expectations: last year they devised an entire haunted house.
This year they transformed their cubicles into a giant spider web, and Category Manager Jeanine Davids (or Mother Superior as we’ve been instructed to address her today) will determine the status of your afterlife.
Spoiler alert, it’s mostly bad outcomes. You can, however, be absolved by a creative take on holy water…
After nearly everyone confirmed that they would be heading to The Bad Place, we sat down for a Halloween breakfast, chatting about our various trick or treating itineraries (the parents) and which terrifying movies to watch with friends (the non-parents).
Georgina Aguirre, Kimberly Coleman and Christina Miller in the Atlanta DC!
This afternoon the winners of the Emeryville pumpkin decorating contest were announced. Competition was intense this year!
Congratulations to the pumpkin contest winners! Cathy Denny with the Best Decorated Pumpkin Jack Mahoney with the Best Carved Pumpkin, Bruce Graham with the Most Creative Pumpkin , Isaly Murrell with the Most Technical Pumpkin.
Congratulations to the winners of the Emeryville Halloween costume contest! Best Overall Costume & Spookiest Costume: Jeanine Davids as Mother Superior, Heather Blaikie, Goddess of Art, for the Most Art-Related Costume, and Corinne Smith, with the Most Creative Costume (she made it herself so she could lip synch both parts of a song for Karaoke!).
Reno held their own celebration as well, complete with costumes and spooky snacks!
Wishing everyone in the industry a Happy Halloween from MacPherson’s! Time to start scheming for 2020…
