Celebrate National Craft Month with this fun DIY ceramic tile magnet tutorial using Tombow ABT PRO Alcohol-Based Markers!
Materials
- Tombow ABT PRO Alcohol-Based Markers
- Tombow MONO Aqua Liquid Glue
- Hexagon mini ceramic tiles
- Rubbing alcohol
- Small paintbrush
- Magnets
Step 1: Color the Tiles with ABT PRO Markers
Pick your favorite ABT PRO Alcohol-Based Marker colors and begin coloring on the ceramic tile. Don’t worry about getting perfect coverage. Just draw simple lines and shapes.
Even though the alcohol ink stays wet for a while, you will still want to work pretty quickly.
Step 2: Apply Rubbing Alcohol on Tile Magnets
Use a paintbrush and rubbing alcohol to blend and shift the alcohol ink around in a swirling motion.
Repeat this process for as many ceramic tiles as you have. You can also use circular shapes or other patterns for a different effect.
Continue using rubbing alcohol to make the colors blend and move.
Repeat for as many ceramic tiles as you have. You can also use larger ceramic tiles to make coasters instead of magnets.
Step 3: Adhere Magnet to Tile
Allow the alcohol ink and the rubbing alcohol to dry completely. Then, turn the ceramic tiles over and adhere a small magnet to the back of the tiles using Tombow MONO Aqua Liquid Glue.
Let the glue dry completely overnight. Then, hang your ceramic tile magnets wherever you like!
Tombow ABT PRO Alcohol-Based Markers are so fun to work with and there are so many wonderful things to create with them!
